The advantage is its greater flexibility, but with today’s wood fiber filaments, 3D printed objects look, feel, and smell just like carved wood, so it is safe to sand the parts and apply different paints and coatings. The presence of these particles gives the 3D printed parts the aesthetics of real wood.
