With the rapid development of 3D printing technology, 3D printing is used more and more widely, from small models, small toys, to buildings and sculptures, and gradually scaled up, but it is not widely used in people's lives.
Seats, as a major category of furniture, not only make life more convenient and comfortable, but also create convenient conditions for work and improve efficiency. After thousands of years of development, it is not only a simple functional item, but also a rich cultural form and information carrier, which has become a comprehensive reflection of political needs, aesthetic taste and scientific and technological level in various periods.

3D Printing Chair:

Imagine what kind of surprise the 3D printing technology and the seat will bring to us.
3D printing has now gradually shifted from " playing" personal tailor to industrial production, after Adidas introduced a future running shoe called Ultra Boost Future Craft 3D, which personalizes the sports shoes with the help of 3D printing technology. Not long ago, IKEA developed an ergonomically designed electric race game seat with the help of 3D printing technology in order to make your buttocks more comfortable.
3D Printing Chair:

For players who like computer games, because they need to sit in front of the computer and repeat the game operation, the cervical spine will be adversely affected over time. Therefore, an ergonomic electric race seat is particularly important.

According to statistics, there are about 2 billion players in the world. This has also brought huge market demand for electric race seats. Recently, the world famous furniture manufacturer IKEA, 3D printing company UNYQ and e-sports company Area Academy have established a partnership and started the project of developing customized seats for game players.
In order to simplify the production process and increase user comfort, the partners chose to develop a more personalized and ergonomic 3D printing electric race seat prototype using 3D printing technology. In specific operations, they will use photometric measurement combined with 3D scanning and 3D printing to create personalized seat products.
At present, the first 3D printed race seat prototype has been developed. The whole development time is only 9 weeks. The seat will be displayed for the first time on IKEA Design Day. Subsequently, the partner will optimize the 3D printed electronic race seat, and it is expected that mature products will begin to be sold in IKEA stores in 2020.
