With the continuous improvement of people's living conditions, people are increasingly pursuing the improvement of the quality of life. The quality of life is often a small item that can be obtained. Now the role of lamps and lanterns is not limited to lighting, but also is an important decorative item. The unique and exquisite lamps and lanterns always bring a different visual enjoyment. The wall lights and desk lamps produced by the 3D printerare not much in common with what we use today. The wall thickness of this European wall lamp is about 1.5mm. The transparent PLA 3D printing material is used for one-off printing. The lamp cover can be equipped with LED wicks of different colors. Under the premise of ensuring beautiful appearance, the lighting effect can achieve sufficient brightness...

Italian startup Youbionic has developed a new 3D printed bionic hand which they claim can perform all movements that a biological hand can. However, with a price tag of €1,499, it doesn’t come cheap.Youbionic, an Italian startup working with robotics and bionics, has developed a bionic hand called “Youbionic Hand” which they hope will interact with the outside world in a similar fashion to a biological hand.  The Youbionic Hand is made using 3D printing and designed to perform the movements of a human hand. The company claim that the new design is stronger and more capable of gripping and picking up objects than their previous designs. In fact, the new hand offers a complete redesign on previous bionic offerings and now has a “structure optimized for resistance”. The company expla...

At present, the research on 3D printing technology has been rapidly developed, the quality of its printing is getting better and better, and the design is becoming more sophisticated.Recently, a customer from Spain held a seminar on 3D printers. At this conference, we used the Anet A8 and Anet A6, which are cost-effective, stable, and easy to assemble. They were assembled by 14 people in 10 hours. 14 DIY machines and also A8 installation instructions in Spanish. They set up a 3D printing team with a coordinator and 6 helpers, who are between 26 and 80 years old. There are many people attending the seminar. Some are teachers and journalists. There are many children. The following pictures from the customer share:Looking at the machines that they are trying to assemble, the members attending t...

If you say that the impression that 3D printing gave many people a few years ago was a gorgeous concept, or just printing some interesting little things, the market has now completely changed. In recent years, on the one hand, consumer attention on 3D printing has decreased; on the other hand, the breadth and depth of application of this technology in the heavy industry are rapidly increasing.According to the changes in the number of venture capital in the global 3D printing industry, this trend can also be found. According to CB Insights statistics, the number of 3D printing investment has grown rapidly during 2013-2017. However, in terms of subdivisions, the opposite trend has emerged in the past two years:On the one hand, the number of industrial-grade 3D printing investments has continu...

NASA continues to apply additive manufacturing to projects, whether it be 3D printed rocket engine parts or the launch of 3D printed CubeSat into space. For several years, NASA has been working hard to build a complete 3D printing rocket engine project. It will not cause the engine to actually enter space; on the contrary, our goal is to prove that the 3D printing engine can be completed and can be completed again in the future, changing the way the rocket engine is manufactured and saving money, time and resources.Advancing projects in a cost-effective manner involves the use of additive manufacturing to develop high-pressure/high-temperature combustors and nozzles with copper alloys. In its latest development, NASA successfully conducted a thermal combustion test at the Marshall Space Fl...

Recently, University College London published an article outlining the role of 3D printing in drug development and how it can radically alter the manufacturing process. In essence, the pharmaceutical industry is conservative and resists change. When people consider the large amount of R&D costs needed to transfer new drugs from discovery to clinics, this economic pressure has inspired people to avoid risk. This burden of drug development means that many traditional practices that have been implemented for many years will change, such as drug manufacturing, which has not been developed since its inception. Although these processes are optimized for cost effectiveness, they are not flexible and are not necessarily compatible with the future of drug development or clinical care. Recent adv...

Product Designer Marco Mattia Cristofori from BigRep turned to the custom wheel rim for a development challenge, creating a prototype virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. BigRep, the German mechanical engineering company, is reinventing the wheel, so to speak. Marco Mattia Cristofori, a product designer at the company, wanted to show the viability of the company’s large-format FDM 3D printing technology for industrial use. With this goal in mind, Christofori 3D printed a full-scale custom wheel hub prototype for a car.In addition to providing a relatable use case for 3D printing in industry, Christofori’s goal was to come up with a striking design. He began by looking at wheel rims and hubcaps for vehicles. In the US, it’s popular to customize vehicle features. But, it’s ex...
